COLONEL ETHAN C. GRIFFIN

Colonel Ethan C. Griffin is the commander of the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, Calif. As commander, he is responsible for the combined efforts of all wing operations and support activities associated with the worldwide air mobility mission. C-5M Super Galaxy, KC-10 Extender and C-17 Globemaster III aircraft participate in airlift and aerial refueling taskings, responding to Joint Chiefs of Staff-directed combat operations, and supporting U.S. State Department-sponsored humanitarian relief efforts worldwide. He is responsible for ensuring the readiness and well-being of more than 35,000 active duty, Reserve, civilian personnel and their families.

Colonel Griffin graduated as an ROTC Distinguished Graduate from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville, Va. in 1994. He has commanded at the squadron-level, both in-garrison and deployed, served on wing and headquarters Air Force staffs, and performed instructor and evaluator duties in the C-17.  He is also a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Command and Staff College, and the School of Advanced Air and Space Studies.

 

Colonel Griffin is a command pilot with more than 3,500 flying hours.
