Travis Sequestration News

The following is a list of facilities and services at Travis Air Force Base that are affected by sequestration and civilian furloughs:

New hours of operation for the Sierra Inn Dining Facility starting June 17:

Mon - Fri 0600-0900
Mon - Fri 1030-1330
Mon - Fri 1630-1830

Sat & Sun 0630-0830
Sat & Sun 1030-1330
Sat & Sun 1630-1830

* Only Grab-n-Go service available from 0900-1030 and 1330-1630 weekdays and 0830-1030 and 1330-1630 weekends

 Beginning July 8 through Sept. 21:

The following facilities will be closed on Mondays:
- Commissary (DECA)

The following facilities will be closed on Fridays:
- Airman and Family Readiness Center
- Housing Management Office
- Civilian Personnel Office
- Education Office
- Training Office
- Casualty Affairs Office
- Family Child Care Office (FCC homes not affected)
- DGMC Dining (meal card holders, residents and inpatients not affected)
- DLA Document Services
- Base Multimedia Service Center
- Veterinary Clinic (every other Friday: July 19, Aug. 2, Aug. 30 and Sept. 13)

The Exchange (AAFES)
- There are no changes in the hours of operation for the Travis stores or its vendors.

Facilities with no impact are:
- Sierra Inn Dining Facility
- Base Lodging
- Fitness Center
- Base Library
- Airman Leadership School
- First Term Airman Course
- Delta Breeze Club
- Cypress Lakes Golf Course
- Travis Bowling Center
- Base Theater
- Auto Hobby Shop
- Arts & Crafts Shop
- Outdoor Recreation
- FAM Camp
- Equestrian Center
- RV Lot Parking
- Travis Marina
- Frame Shop

Military Personnel Section
- There are no changes to the hours of operation or services at the MPS; however, customers may likely incur longer wait times.

David Grant USAF Medical Center
- There are no changes to the hours of operation or medical support services at the hospital; however, some medical services may likely incur longer wait times.

Education Opportunities
- Tuition Assistance was reinstated for 2013.

Public/Community Support
- Travis did not have an air show scheduled in 2013.
- Flyovers and static displays in support of community events or air shows are halted until further notice.
- The Band of the Golden West is restricted to local area support only and cannot support requests to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Nevada, Arizona, Utah and most areas of California.
- The Tops in Blue tour was cancelled for 2013.

Flying Hours/Base Operations
- The base must reduce flying hours by 18 percent, which equates to a 30-percent reduction until September 2013.
- Air Mobility Command canceled the Mobility Air Force's biennial Rodeo readiness competition.
- Space Available privileges remain unchanged for all. However, with a reduction in flying hours, there may be limited seats available for Space A passengers.
