David Grant USAF Medical Center - Central Appointments

David Grant USAF Medical Center  uses an automated "attendant" telephone system to provide patients with a quick and convenient method for scheduling and cancelling most outpatient appointments. This system automatically answers all incoming calls and routes each call to the correct appointment service phone extension within DGMC, based on your inputs.

Appointments at DGMC are divided into three broad categories: Direct Access, Referral or Online.

DIRECT ACCESS APPOINTMENTS
Primary care type appointments are scheduled directly with the clinic through the Central Appointments desk.  Patients should call (707) 423-3000 (Toll Free, 1-800-264-3462) Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. to make or cancel an appointment in all outpatient clinics EXCEPT for the following:

Arthur J. Sachsel Dental Clinic: (707) 423-7000
Flight Surgeon's Office: (707) 423-5446
Hematology/Oncology Clinic: (707) 423-5129
Mental Health Clinic: (707) 423-5174

TRICARE Prime and TRICARE Plus patients can make the following appointments:

Acute, Routine, Follow-up, and Wellness Appointments: All calls to the Appointments number will connect you with DGMC's automated telephone system.  Follow the instructions to be connected to the Appointments clerk that handles the clinic where you want to schedule an appointment.

What we will need from you: DGMC recommends the following before calling to schedule your appointment:

1.) Have your sponsor's full social security number ready to give to the appointment clerk

2.) Have a calendar or know what dates the appointment will fit into your plans.  This may avoid later rescheduling if you can't keep, or have to cancel/reschedule an appointment.

3.) Have a pen/pencil and paper ready to record the appointment information.  After making your appointment, it is a good idea to repeat back the date and time of the scheduled appointment with the appointment clerk to ensure accuracy.

Every effort will be made to schedule you to see your Primary Care Manager.  However, if your PCM is unavailable due to scheduling conflicts, deployments, temporary duty assignments or permanent change of station moves, an appointment will be made with another provider.

Canceling Appointments: Patients can cancel an appointment 24 hours a day, seven days a week, by calling 423-3000 and leaving a recorded message at the appropriate cancellation service.  Please listen to all the voice prompts before making your selection.  Once the type of appointment selection is made, the patient will automatically be transferred to another voice message providing "touch-tone" instructions for the clinic in which the appointment is to be scheduled.

Appointments made directly with a clinic can be canceled by calling that clinic directly during normal duty hours.  Please call as far in advance as possible so your appointment time can be made available for another patient.

Should you have any problems with the appointment system, contact DGMC's Appointment Manager at 423-3000 or the Patient Relations Coordinator at 423-2388.

REFERRAL APPOINTMENTS
A number of clinics operate by referral only. Appointments in these clinics can be made when a DGMC or DGMC-sponsored provider recommends you be seen in a specific clinic.  See the Referral Management Office for additional information.
