TRAVIS AIR EXPO CANCELLED AFTER CIVILIAN PERFORMER MISHAP

5/5/2014 - TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.  -- While performing an acrobatic aerial maneuver, Eddie Andreini, 77 years old from Half Moon Bay, California deceased after his PT-17 aircraft crashed at approximately 2:05 p.m. at Travis Air Force Base, California, during the "Thunder over Solano" Air Expo.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Eddie Andreini. Our Travis team responded to this tragic incident to ensure the safety of everyone on the installation.

Security Forces are requesting any video or photos of the accident taken by individuals at the air show to assist with the investigation. Call (707) 424-3293 for further instructions.

Travis responders secured the investigation site area and are preparing for National Transportation Safety Board investigation.
