DGMC is "freeway close" -- roughly an hour's drive time from the "City by the Bay" (San Francisco), or the "Capitol City" (Sacramento).
There are at least five routes you can take to DGMC:
Leisure Town Road exit off westbound I-80 near Vacaville if you're coming from Sacramento;
Hwy 12 off eastbound I-80, if you're coming from the Bay area, or westbound from I-5/Hwy 99 at Stockton;
Air Base Parkway exit off the I-80 in
Fairfield;
Lawler Ranch Parkway/Walters Road from
Suisun City, or;
Parker Road from
Vacaville if you reside in the local area.
The "tip" for shaving your drive times to DGMC is
planning your trip in advance.
Make your scheduled appointments in advance and travel in the opposite direction as everyone else who's heading to work in the morning (or dragging themselves back home in the evening). You'll beat those speed demons and road warriors doing their daily roundtrips on the "Solano Speedway" (aka "I-80 500") -- thereby avoiding a few traffic tie-ups yourself.
A
train station and trans-modal "hub" are in the planning stages by Solano County leaders to be located near the intersections of Peabody Road and Cement Hill Road -- about 1.5 miles from DGMC. Utilizing daily commuter trains running along AMTRAK's "
Capitol Corridor" route, local
Fairfield and Suisun Transit (FAST) and
Vacaville City Coach commuter bus systems could place you within a short walking distance of DGMC in the near future.
