CMSgt CHIEF MASTER SERGEANT DEREK T. CROWDER

Chief Master Sergeant Derek T. Crowder is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Travis Air Force Base, California. He is the primary advisor to the commander on matters concerning the morale, welfare, health and discipline of more than 4,100 enlisted men and women. The wing’s assigned aircraft include the C-5M Super Galaxy, KC-10 Extender and    C-17 Globemaster III. These airframes conduct air, land and aerial refueling taskings, responding to Joint Chiefs of Staff- directed combat operations, and support U.S. State Department-sponsored humanitarian relief efforts worldwide.

 

Chief Crowder grew up in Argenta, Illinois and entered the Air Force in January of 1994. His background includes various duties in Materiel Management at the unit and Major Command level. Throughout his career he has also filled roles outside of Materiel Management to include Airman Leadership Instructor and Flight Chief. He received a Master in Strategic Studies, Air War College, Maxwell AFB, Alabama in 2017. Prior to his current position, he was the Command Chief Master Sergeant, 1st Fighter Wing, Joint Base Langley-Eustis, Virginia.

 

Previous assignments include installations in New Mexico, Illinois, Alaska, Alabama, Afghanistan and the Republic of Korea. His has deployed in support of Operations Deny Flight, Southern Watch and Enduring Freedom.
