Welcome to the Travis Air Force Base Travel webpage. Space-A Travel is a privilege that may offer substantial savings for your leisure travel plans. We strive to provide a vast variety of information for our travelers to use in their travel preparations for your desired destination. Space-A Reminder

Reminder To All Space-A Travelers: Per DODI 4515.13, Section 4, Paragraph 4.1.a., Reservations. There is no guarantee of transportation and reservations will not be accepted or made for any space-available traveler. The DoD is not obligated to continue an individual's travel or return the individual to the point of origin or any other point. Travelers should have sufficient personal funds to pay for commercial transportation, lodging, and other expenses if space-available transportation is not available. All associated expenses are the responsibility of the traveler.

2 - Locations
Where do you want to depart from, and where do you want to go? What common destinations are offered at your nearest AMC Passenger Terminal? Click here to find out or visit your nearest AMC Passenger Terminal's Facebook Page (links are located to the right of your screen).

3 - Document Check
Do you have all your required travel documents? This could include your leave paperwork, valid Uniformed Services ID, passport/visa or other documents required by the location you are traveling to or from. In many cases this will be different for each traveler depending on your status. Please contact your departure passenger terminal for documentation requirements or travel restrictions. Many of these requirements are described in our passenger movement regulations. You can also get more information by visiting the U.S. Department of State International Travel website.

4 - Registration
You have many choices to register for Space-A travel: In-person, remotely by fax, postal mail or email. You can register in-person at the AMC Passenger Terminal by speaking directly with a passenger service agent. Other options are to fax or email your request to the passenger terminal. AMC Passenger Terminals will accept email sign-ups from other than the AMC Web Site; however, AMC is not responsible for lost, delayed or incorrect information on sign-ups from those sites. Customers who have issues with sign-ups from other than AMC sites must contact that site for resolution or sign up at the time you present yourself at the terminal. We recommend that you keep a copy of the sent email for your records.

6 - Checking in
At the AMC Passenger Terminal, Space-A passengers can check-in at the counter to mark yourself present.  Review updated flight information.  Ensure you do not exceed baggage weight limits.  Ensure you are not traveling with any prohibited items.  Await your Space-A call and follow instructions given to  you by the passenger service agents.

Space-A Email Sign up

Sponsor's E-mail must include: Name, Rank, and Service affiliation; DoD ID is not mandatory.

NOTE: All dependents traveling with the sponsor must be identified by name (DoD ID or passport number is optional).

Print a copy of your sent e-mail and keep it in your possession during your travels.

Travel for Active Duty

Space-A Travel For Active Duty Members: Active Duty members may travel Space-A in Category-3 along with their dependents while on Leave. The Active Duty Sponsor must be in a valid leave status and within the dates on an approved leave form. It is the member’s responsibility to ensure documentation presented to AMC Passenger Service Agents represent accurate leave information when signing up for Space-A travel.

Travel for IDT

Members of Reserve Components may travel in a Space-Required (Space-R) status, on DOD controlled aircraft for attendance at IDT assemblies within the CONUS, between CONUS and OCONUS or within OCONUS. Official Travel Authorization (TA) documents must be presented to AMC Passenger Service Agents to be considered during the Space-R travel selection process. Approved written authorization may include a Memorandum Letter or appropriate Service Form, directing a member to perform IDT and must indicate the dates and locations of training and be signed by an approving authority other than the member. Applicable head tax/FIS fees, meal charges and excess baggage fees will be charged at check-in. All travelers must have a valid ID card and all other required travel documents (e.g., passport, visa, country clearance, etc.) as indicated by the Foreign Clearance Guide (FCG).

Due to OPSEC requirements we regret that we can no longer post the complete routing of missions. We are only permitted to post the first destination.
Dependents Stationed Overseas
As of June 14 2019 Outdoor Recreation has informed us they only have spots for large vehicles under 27 feet long. There is a 3 year wait list for RV's and Autos. The Short -Term Parking near the Passenger Terminal is only for Passenger - type vehicles and is ONLY for 30 days.
When Guard and Reserve Members are using accrued leave they are considered Active Duty. Please see the Active Duty video. This video applies to Guard and Reserve Members who are NOT using accrued leave.
