We, at Travis Air Force Base, wanted to recognize some of the extraordinary people in our local community by making the theme of the air show ‘Honoring our Hometown Heroes.’
This program is designed to showcase American citizens doing amazing things in their communities, paralleling the amazing efforts put forth by America's Airmen every day. Heroes might include, but are not limited to: an average citizen who heroically saved a life, a renowned teacher, a community humanitarian volunteer, a local firefighter, a paramedic or police officer, one who mentors children or volunteers as a coach or tutor in a youth program, or someone who dedicates their life to working with at-risk children.
Please note that people ineligible for this program include, but are not limited to: active-duty military members, elected and appointed officials, unit honorary commanders, newscasters, reporters, board directors, or other individuals who have the ability to garner publicity in their own rights.
We have filled the other two opportunities. However, we are still accepting application for our Hometown Heroes booth (Due by March 15).
Please fill out the above application and include a reason for the nomination as well as a bio pic. If you know a Hometown Hero, please feel free to send them this information.
Please send completed applications to the 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs office at 60AMWPA@us.af.mil or call us for more information at 707-424-2011.
In addition to many flight and static displays, Travis Air Force Base Air Show 2019 will offer a number of specific opportunities for media such as media flights, and interview opportunities.
