It is the policy of Travis Air Force Base to make agency records available to the public to the greatest extent possible in keeping with the spirit and intent of the Freedom of Information Act.
Who May Submit a Request:
Under the Act, members of the public, including foreign citizens, military and civilian personnel acting as private citizens, organizations and businesses, and individual members of the Congress, for themselves or constituents, may request records.
How to Submit a Request:
For fastest times, the Air Force has decentralized its FOIA program. A request may be submitted online at Public Access Link: https://efoia.milcloud.mil/(S(fcm4s5col1vkzaifvdgrq4dc))/App/ReadingRoom.aspx.. Please note that this link is currently incompatible with Google Chrome. A request may also be submitted in writing and should indicate that it is being made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA).

Or may be submitted by e-mail and should indicate that the request is made under the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note, this is not a secured e-mail address. Submitting sensitive information and personally identifiable information, such as social security number, date of birth, legal, and medical information, to unsecured e-mail address are vulnerable to interception by untrusted Third Party individuals. We recommend the use of DoD SAFE (https://safe.apps.mil/) when submitting by e-mail to email@example.com. DoD SAFE has the capability to secure your request.

Contents of the Request:
The request should contain the following information:
Response Time: You can expect a response to your request within 20 workdays from the date of receipt in the Travis FOIA Office. If for some reason we cannot respond within the 20 workdays, we will inform you of the reason for the delay and provide an estimated completion date.
To Make A Privacy Act Request:
If you are seeking records on yourself, this is a Privacy Act request and you will need to provide proof of identity. A request may be submitted in writing. We recommend the use of DoD SAFE (https://safe.apps.mil/) when submitting by e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. DoD SAFE can secure your request.
Air Force-affiliated requesters, to include military and civilian employees, should not use government equipment, supplies, stationery, postage, telephones, or official mail channels to make Privacy Act requests.
