Travis defenders celebrate Police Week Published May 22, 2017 By 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs Airmen from the 60th Security Forces Squadron hosted several events at Travis Air Force Base, California, in honor of Police Week including a Defender's Challenge, shooting competition, picnic and all security forces retreat ceremony. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. Police Week also gives the 60th SFS an opportunity to inform, educate and strengthen community relations.
