Further, to mobilize retirees and provide volunteer assistance to active-duty organizations that require such help. To also provide assistance to those retirees in need by staffing a Retire Activities Office with volunteer retirees who are capable of responding to questions posed by retirees and their dependents on a daily basis.

holiday season is here and with its conclusion tax season is upon us. Travis AFB no longer hosts the Volunteer Tax Assistance Program,
but sources of help are available at a number
of local Senior/Community Center locations through the American
Association of Retired People (AARP). The RAO at Travis has reached out to each
center and all of them require people needing
assistance to call in for an appointment. If you need help, we recommend you call the center serving your town or city
during the ist half of January to setup an appointment, get
information regarding the documents you need to bring in to file your taxes,
and to find out if there are any age or income restrictions on who's eligible
for assistance. Contact numbers are listed below:

This year’s Retiree Appreciation Day (RAD) 2019 took place on 26 October 2019 at the David Grant USAF Medical Center. This event recognized more than 65,000 retirees and family members by providing a venue to connect them with the services they need and to also see what the Air Force has been up to since they retired. This event was carefully planned by leader Captain Sara Salmeri of the 60th Medical Group, ably assisted by MSgt Amanda Richardson of the 21st Airlift Squadron, planned and made possible by personnel across the 60th AMW who gave “above and beyond” to make it happen. Thank you!
