The David Grant USAF Medical Center’s Arthur J. Sachsel Dental Clinic is now accepting applications for the American Red Cross Dental Assisting Program.

The next session will begin in June. To be eligible for this professional training program, people must be 18 years or older and a military sponsored ID card holder.

The program consists of 800 hours of classroom and clinical experience held Monday through Friday from 6:45 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“Participants must also complete a CPR/First Aid course and have current immunizations,” explained Ms. Joan Kelley-Williams, ARC station manager at DGMC. "Reimbursement for childcare or transportation is not available. We understand this is a significant commitment, but the dental clinic provides quality training and you will leave the program with marketable skills.”

Applications are available at the ARC station office, located on the second floor of DGMC in section two east.

Forms must be completed and returned by May 15.

Applicants will be interviewed in May and notified of their selection status within two to three weeks.

Due to chemicals and X-rays students may be exposed to during the course, women who are pregnant will not be considered for this program, according to the dental clinic policy.
