Essential Team Travis medical personnel receive base's first COVID-19 vaccine

U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Yadira Wood, 60th Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron aerospace medical technician, administers the COVID-19 vaccine to Lt. Col. Joseph Sky, 60th Surgical Squadron chief of medical staff, Dec. 22, 2020, at Travis Air Force Base, California. Sky was the first person to receive the vaccine at Travis AFB. Sky will join several Airmen from the 60th Medical Group on a deployment to Southern California to assist with pandemic relief efforts. David Grant U.S. Air Force Medical Center is the largest Air Force medical facility and provides care to more than 276,000 Department of Defense and Veteran Affairs eligible beneficiaries.
