Katie Batchelder 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- A day on the job for Airman 1st Class Dustin Stone, member of the 60th Civil Engineering Squadron entomology shop aka pest control, can be exciting, challenging and sometimes smelly. Airman Stone performs a variety of tasks on a daily basis, which include anything from cleaning up road kill, spraying for ants and other insects, handling bees and snakes and saving animals that are trapped, lost or injured. "When I am presented the opportunity to save an animal, it puts a smile on my face," said Airman Stone. "I also enjoy contributing to cleanup of roads on base, so I don't mind dealing with road kill." Airman Stone responds to road kill cleanup calls and helps keep roads on base free of animal debris. He has also helped save various types of birds including baby owls. Additionally, on his off time while driving with a friend in a personally owned vehicle, Airman Stone keeps an eye out for road kill on base, helping keep Travis roads clean.
