Many military members and civilians are familiar with a local neighborhood watch program, but many don't know there is a base program specifically aimed at keeping those who live and work on military installations safe.

The Air Force Eagles Eyes Program helps to educate military and civilian personnel, family members, and the surrounding community on identifying and reporting suspicious or possible terrorist activity.

The program came about after Sept. 11 and educates the military and civilian community to serve as the eyes and ears for this program.

Some indicators of possible terrorist activity include the following;

- Military-affiliated personnel being questioned about military operations
- Trying to gain unauthorized access to the installation
- Observing personnel or vehicles entering or leaving military facilities
- Increased anonymous telephone or electronic threats
- Foot surveillance
- Individuals taking pictures or videotaping the installation gate or flightline

When filing a report always give the location where the suspicious activity is taking place. Write down a vehicle's year, make, model and tag number if necessary. If possible, a facial description can also be extremely helpful.

Individuals may report suspicious activity to the Air Force Office of Special Investigations, Security Forces, local and federal police. If reporting to Security Forces Call 424-3293 any day or night of the week.
