PWOC producing fashion show extravaganza Published Feb. 12, 2009 By Airman 1st Class Kristen Rohrer 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Protestant Women of the Chapel will produce a Fashion Show Extravaganza March 21 from noon to 2 p.m. at the 60th Maintenance Group Atrium. The theme for this first-time fashion show is "Gloriously Divine in 2009." The PWOC designed the event to be a community outreach program that allows individuals to share and celebrate their multi-cultural backgrounds by displaying the fashion or clothing from different parts of the world. "The mission of the show is to bring forth unity among the diverse groups in the military," said Grace Wright, PWOC president. "Hopefully it will allow participants to be in contact with different multi-cultural groups, it's an all-inclusive event for the community." In addition to the actual show, there will be a selection of different foods from around the world in keeping with the multi-cultural theme. Mrs. Wright also added that attendees can expect more than just a fashion show, but look forward to a performance. "We want active participation for everyone, for people to represent Travis. It's about bringing the community together," she said. "It is a ministry outreach to involve and unify different cultures." The show is open to anyone in the Travis community interested in participating. Participation forms are available at Chapel Center and Chapel One or by contacting Ann Page at pwoctafb@gmail.com, and must be submitted by Feb. 19. Those interested in attending as audience members may do so for free and are invited to come as they are.
