MatchUp to kick off June 1 Published May 14, 2008 60th Services Squadron TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- MatchUP, an Air Mobility Command contest designed to help increase awareness and participation in Air Force programs, services and activities, kicks off June 1 and continues through August. AMC will award more than 12,000 prizes, with cash going to the top three winners. Based on the TV game "Concentration," MatchUP is an interactive, Web-based program in which participants attempt to match various symbols in the fewest number of turns and in the fastest time. "MatchUP is AMC's summertime program where participants can win some great prizes by simply participating in various activities at their base," stated Col. Benjamin Trotter, Air Mobility Command Services Operations Division Services chief. "It's a tremendous opportunity to reward our Airmen and their families for all their hard work and, at the same time, help introduce them to the many benefits of base life." Players receive game pieces for participating in MatchUP-designated events. Each game piece is worth an entry into the grand-prize drawings and also is a ticket to try one's luck playing MatchUP. "We're really excited to offer another summer of AMC MatchUP fun and excitement," stated Scott Black, AMC marketing director. "Everyone is so intently focused on completing the mission and it's a great feeling to play a small part in helping them spend time with their families ... and possibly win some awesome prizes." MatchUP also offers guaranteed prizes for each AMC installation. Each week, registered participants can compete for randomly selected cash prizes at their base. In addition, several AMC guard/Reserve units will have a weekly cash winner. Each base also will have five cash winners at the conclusion of the program. Services coupons will be offered as instant prizes when registering game pieces online at www.amcmatchup.com. Online coupons will give the recipient their choice of six options to redeem at various Services facilities. Participation in MatchUP can help a base win thousands of dollars toward improving the quality of life at your installation.
