Travis Airman returns with proposal

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  After a four-month deployment to Southwest Asia, Senior Airman Adeyam Parker, 660th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, brought back a question for his girlfriend. 

"I was going to propose at a fancy restaurant, but halfway through my deployment, I decided to do it when I got off the plane," said Airman Parker.
In the midst of applauding Airmen and TV cameras, his girlfriend, Staff Sgt. Kristin Harrison said yes. 

"I wasn't expecting him to ask me - I was already excited to see him, but that was the icing on the cake," said Sergeant Harrison.
Airman Parker was one of 70 Airmen from various squadrons that returned to Travis on a KC-10 Sept. 15. 

The returning Airmen seemed to have a look of excitement as they exited the aircraft, some talked with their friends, others embraced their families. 

"It feels good to be home, I plan on taking some leave to relax with my family and get back to being a dad," said Staff Sgt. Luis Noriega, 9th Air Refueling Squadron boom operator. 

Other Airmen had similar plans.
"I'm going to get my cell phone turned back on and call some friends, also I'm going to take some leave and go hunting in Arizona," said Airmen 1st Class James Griffith, 60th Equipment Maintenance Squadron aircraft structural maintenance. 

Others were happy to be back to enjoy the Northern California weather.
"I'm glad to be back, it was 145 degrees when I started my 120-day deployment, and before I left it was 130 degrees," said Senior Airmen Keith Hastings, 60th EMS aircraft structural maintenance. 

There are more than 700 Travis Airmen deployed around the world to fight the war on terror. When they return, Travis will welcome them home.
