Congratulations quarterly award winners! Published Jan. 24, 2008 By Col. GI Tuck 60th Air Mobility Wing vice commander TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- We welcomed this week celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s, birthday. We honor his legacy and celebrate his life as a man who made a singular difference for the betterment of our nation. As January draws to a close, we reflect on where we've been, how far we've come and how grateful we are for the freedoms we cherish and how Team Travis defends these freedoms each and every day - our thanks to each of you as you've paid your citizenship in full. It is no surprise as we take a moment to reflect, how incredibly busy we are executing our global mobility mission, welcoming Air Mobility Command evaluation teams and preparing for our Unit Compliance Inspection, we pause to pay special tribute to our men and women who demonstrate daily why we are "America's First Choice." Thirteen military health organizations within the military medical community will be recognized as "best-of-the-best" during the Department of Defense's annual Military Health Systems Conference for superior customer service while providing quality medical care to deployed forces and TRICARE beneficiaries. Congratulations to Col. Lee Payne and the David Grant USAF Medical Center for earning the Department of Defense Obstetrics Care Award for outstanding customer satisfaction. Bravo Zulu to our medics - taking care of Team Travis, one patient at a time! Finally, a special thank you to our military families who are our heroes at home - there are no medals or ribbons for what you do and no ceremonies to honor your courage, sacrifice and resolve, often paid in sweat and tears - it does not go unnoticed. Thank you for allowing your Airman to serve and for making a difference!
