I am an American Airman
I am a warrior
I have answered my nation's call.

I am an American Airman
My mission is to fly, fight and win.
I am faithful to a proud heritage,
a tradition of honor,
and a legacy of valor.

I am an American Airman,
guardian of freedom and justice,
my nation's sword and shield,
its sentry and avenger.
I defend my country with my life.

I am an American Airman:
wingman, leader, warrior.
I will never leave an Airman behind,
I will never falter
I will never fail.

Can you recite our Airman's Creed from memory? Have you taken the time to review, digest and understand why the chief of staff of the Air Force selected the words he did to frame the creed? For me those words define us as Airmen.

We took an oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, thus, answering our nation's call. Regardless of where you work; hospital, dining facility, maintenance, base operations, finance, security forces or your specialty, your mission is to fly fight and win. We are American Airmen, members of a proud heritage and a tradition of honor- the United States Air Force.

Unlike our sister services, our great institution has the privilege and responsibility of being the caretaker of three unique domains: Air, Space and Cyber Space. We are guardians of freedom.

Since our inception in 1947, we have patrolled the skies, dominating that domain, taking a back seat to no one; providing America a blanket of freedom and standing ready to defend her with our lives. We are wingmen, leaders, and warriors. We are the Air Force's most prized possessions, and we are the reason our Air Force will never falter and will not fail.

Be proud to be an American Airmen and learn to recite the Airman's Creed from memory and stand when you recite it aloud during official events. In my opinion, the Airman's Creed is one of the CSAF's best creations, what a defining legacy.

Have a great Air Force weekend American Airmen, be safe, make responsible choices and I'll see you around campus.
