This has been one incredible week!

In my opinion, Team Travis hit a home run early this week when the Air Mobility Command's Commander in Chief's Installation Excellence Award team arrived.

From our members behind the scenes, to our polished briefers and incredible facilities, everyone put their best foot forward and shined. A special thanks to Lt. Col. Mark Luttschwager, 1st Lt. Meghann Fletcher, Capt. Jim Kerley and Capt. George Carter from the 60th Air Mobility Wing, Maj. Clint McCommon from the 615th Contingency Response Wing and Capt. Susan Labreque from the 349th Air Mobility Wing for the long hours you and your teams invested, ensuring Team Travis rocked!

Regardless of the outcome, Brig. Gen. Mark Stearns, 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force commander, Brig. Gen. Tom Gisler, 349th AMW commander, Col. Anthony Hinen, 615th CRW and I are truly proud of the heroic efforts that you show each and every day.

While many of you were diligently working on this week's inspection, several members of Team Travis attended the Airlift/Tanker Association Convention in Nashville, Tenn.

Thank you to Capt. Rob McCallister and his KC-10 crew and Capt. Pete Lueck and his C-17 crew for the expert care they took in flying the attendees to the event. It truly was an outstanding experience for all of us as we learned about airlift and tanker heritage and renewed old friendships. A special thanks to Team Travis for the professionalism you displayed and ensuring that all of us returned safely.

Finally, we had the unique opportunity to support the transport of "Maggie the Elephant" from Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska to Travis Thursday evening.

The logistical impact and media coverage was extensive and special kudos go out to Mr. "Buck" Buchanan and his entire 60th Aerial Port Squadron team for executing such a great plan, and Capt. Vanessa Hillman, Staff Sgt. Matthew McGovern and the 60th AMW Public Affairs office for garnering the outstanding national and local coverage this event brought.

To someone on the outside looking in, pulling off this week's events with such aplomb may seem difficult, but I know that for this great team, "There Are No Bounds!"

Outstanding job to all, and as Col. Steve Arquiette would say, "Big, Proud, Strong!"
