Team Travis has a knack for responding to our nation's call with vigor and focus, and we should all be very proud of that! Whether supporting the Global War on Terrorism, volunteering in our schools and community, or working 12-hour shifts, Travis Airmen continue to step to the challenge and make a difference.

It's time for another opportunity for Travis Airmen to make a difference by participating in the annual Combined Federal Campaign at Travis, which begins today.
The CFC provides an opportunity to make a difference in many lives by contributing to agencies that are providing sustenance to those who find themselves in need. From national medical foundations to programs in the local community, the CFC offers an avenue to contribute to these great causes.

You should all receive a CFC booklet highlighting the many different organizations that benefit from the generosity this campaign harnesses. Whether it is a local environmental agency, national patriotic organizations, the American Red Cross or USO, you'll find there is something of interest for everyone.

If you would like to keep your contribution local, there are many Travis organizations available for you to contribute to including Travis Youth Activities, Travis Fisher House, Travis Community Activities, Travis Family Services, Travis USO, Lillian's Green Thumb Project and the Travis Historical Society. Each of these organizations serves Travis families and would greatly benefit from your contributions.

The Travis Team has had a long history of generous giving and we have once again set our goals high. I have challenged the CFC team to make 100 percent contact with Travis Airmen and to strive for a 35 percent participation rate.
Many organizations rely on the CFC for their success, so contributions of all sizes are greatly appreciated.

You should expect your squadron representative to be in contact with you shortly, but in the meantime I encourage you to visit the link established on the Travis Intranet webpage.

On this site you can view a booklet containing the many different organizations available for donation, a video about the program, names of the squadron points of contact and real-time updates to the Travis goals.

You can also contact the Team Travis CFC chairmen, Maj. Derek Stuart, at 424-3207 if you have additional questions.
The CFC kick off program is today at 2:30 p.m. at the base theater. The CFC will run until Nov. 17. Please take some time to think about contributing to this great cause.
