Travis will be participating in the Logistics Compliance Assessment Program inspection from Nov. 14 to Nov. 21. The inspection will evaluate various units including Quality Assurance, Aerospace Ground Equipment and Maintenance Safety.

With the LCAP looming, it is important for our Airmen to be prepared. Part of the preparation is having a better understanding of the LCAP criteria.

According to Air Force Instruction 20-111 "Logistics Compliance Assessment Program (LCAP)," the LCAP has a five-tier grading scale consisting of outstanding, excellent, satisfactory, marginal and unsatisfactory. The grades are based on the percentage of tasks completed and tasks are graded on a pass or fail basis. Points are also deducted for major and minor findings during the inspection.

While the inspection is rigorous, Travis is ready to take on this challenge and make the grade.

"We'll go out there and we'll watch them perform a task from start to finish and then give them a grade, a pass or fail rating based on our assessment of their performance" said Tech. Sgt. Joel Pelletier, 60th Maintenance Squadron Quality Assurance inspector.
Pelletier's unit is taking increased measures to ensure they are prepared.

"Normally, we do about 40 per month against one squadron," he said. "We've upped that an additional ten so we're doing 50 inspections now."

It's important to take additional steps to prepare for the LCAP, and Travis remains vigilant for compliance issues constantly according to Tech. Sgt. Christopher Funk 60th Maintenance Squadron safety.

"We should always be performing at the same level at all times," Funk said. "This is an ongoing mission, we strive for excellence."

It's true that most of us don't like being graded, but the key to success in anything is preparation and Travis is ready, willing and able for the mission at hand, Funk said.
