Health Fair has tools to keep fit Published Sept. 15, 2011 By Airman Madelyn Ottem 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Health and Wellness Center coordinator Jennifer Pearson organized a Health Fair Sept. 9 for service members of the 60th Maintenance Squadron and their families at gym 1 in the Travis Fitness Center. As part of the Comprehensive Airman Fitness program, the event was designed to demonstrate a variety of low impact exercise techniques that can be integrated with families and outside of work. The CAF program recognizes the role of being an Airman is more demanding than just maintaining physical fitness. The fair displayed tables with information on a variety of different aspects of staying healthy. This event also provided Airmen with useful information and methods to remain flexible with exercise time. When family time and gym time conflict, these exercises offer a compromise so neither has to be sacrificed. The Health Fair consisted of numerous exercise stations including jump ropes, back extensions, warrior poses, hula hoops, step boxes, bosu squats, superman poses and bicycles. The HAWC plans on continuing these fairs to provide each squadron with the tools to keep fit with family at home, in the office or at the gym.
