Scholarships awarded to family housing residents Published Aug. 6, 2010 By Balfour Beatty Communities TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE,Calif. -- Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation recently announced Steven Sigley Jr.,Ha'Ani Artero and Adams Spaulding were awarded $1,000 scholarships for the 2010-2011 academic year. "We are extremely proud of of our young residents." stated Patrick Hoppaugh, community manager for Balfour Beatty Communities, "and so pleased that a resident from our community was one of the applicants chosen from all those who applied from the 44 installations that we serve." The exceptional credentials and well-written essays led to the foundation's board to select them as recipients for the upcoming academic year. One of the goals of Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation is to provide financial support to the children of military families who reside in one of its communities in the form of scholarships that promote the pursuit of education on an annual basis. Other goals of this nonprofit organization include the establishment of places for communal gathering and reflection on the unselfish contributions military members make for us and our nation as well as assistance to returning service members requiring specially adapted homes or services.
