Airmen from Team Travis have formed a group that's mission is helping Airmen pave a correct path to be successful in the Air Force.

The Airmen Committed to Excellence organization informs Airmen about programs on base, education opportunities and changes in Air Force standards and procedures.

"Professional organizations may be more necessary today than ever before," said Chief Master Sgt. Daniel Fischer, 60th Air Mobility Wing command chief. "Given today's hectic work tempo, Travis' multi-wing synergy challenges, the proliferation of social media and an increasing tendency to recluse when not on duty, making time to pause from work, rally at a single location, and connect face-to-face with fellow Airmen regardless of unit of assignment--in a positive way for a good purpose--is huge. Enter our newest professional organization Travis Airmen Committed to Excellence."

ACE leadership invites guest speakers to inform Airmen about changing ways to write bullets for enlisted performance reports and physical training standards.

"ACE gives Airmen a voice, an opportunity to take on new roles and grow as leaders among our peers," said Airman 1st Class Alexander Seide, 60th Contracting Squadron contract specialist. "It also allows Airmen to think among their peer groups constructively and to see and understand what other trials and tribulations affect Airmen these days.
ACE promotes a better quality of life and has created events for Airmen to enjoy life here at Travis."

Additionally, the organization gives Airmen the ability to work hands on in the various volunteer opportunities the local community has to offer.

ACE also is dedicated to improving quality of life for dorm residence on base by creating and facilitating activities that get everyone involved.

"ACE is an amazing organization that helps you evolve into a better Airman, leader and person," said Airmen 1st Class Kayleigh Lewallen, president of the Airmen Committed to Excellence. "The group is like a family and you have a feeling of belonging among your peers."

ACE meetings are held the third Thursday of every month at the The Airman's Pit in bldg. 1348 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
