DGMC flu vaccine update Published Nov. 2, 2009 By 60th Medical Group Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- David Grant USAF Medical Center has temporarily experienced a shortage of the seasonal flu vaccine. Seasonal flu vaccine is still available for those aged 6 to 35-months in the Pediatrics and/or Allergy/Immunizations clinics. However, DGMC's Immunization clinic has received another allotment of the seasonal flu vaccine and are once again giving the vaccinations to active duty and medically high risk patients, pregnant women and persons age 50 and older in the Immunizations clinic while supplies last. Additionally, flu vaccination clinics for all TRICARE beneficiaries and Department of Defense employees are back on as schedule while supplies last for the following dates and times: Nov 14: Mini Mall 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Must have valid Military ID) Nov 15: Base Exchange 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Must have valid Military ID) Nov 18: Youth Center 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (Must have valid Military ID or proof of employment) For the Youth Center, seasonal Injectable vaccine will be available on a "first come, first served" basis for children ages 6 months and over, family members and employees of the Child Development Centers and Youth Center. Parents must be present with children less than 18 yrs. DGMC staff hopes to have the H1N1 flu vaccine by early December and will schedule immunization lines as adequate supplies of H1N1 vaccine arrive.
