570th Contingency Response Group change of command
Col. David Chandler assumed command of the 570th Contingency Response Group in a change-of-command ceremony June 25 at the 615th Contingency Response Wing's Global Reach Deployment Center.

The ceremony marked the official transition of command from Col. Steven Jordan to Colonel Chandler.

"I am truly honored to command the 570th CRG 'Gunslingers,'" said Colonel Chandler. "This team of professional Airmen is on the leading edge of projecting power throughout the globe."

Most recently, Colonel Chandler was the director of Aeronautical Services, Office of Global Navigation at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency in Saint Louis, Mo.

"Colonel Chandler brings to the 570th CRG incredible depth and breadth, particularly having just served in a joint assignment at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency," said Col. John Lipinski, 615th Contingency Response Wing commander. "His experience will greatly benefit the 570th CRG and the rest of the CRW as we remain postured for immediate response wherever and whenever the need may arise."

571st Contingency Response Group change of command
The 571st Contingency Response Group welcomed their new commander in a change-of-command ceremony June 29, also at the 615th Contingency Response Wing's Global Reach Deployment Center.

During the official transition of command, Col. Red Skelton assumed command from outgoing commander, Col. Paul Judge.

"The 571st CRG has distinguished itself with unrivaled response capabilities," said Colonel Skelton. "I'm proud to be a part of the 571st team and look forward to carrying on the group's impressive legacy."

Prior to assuming command of the 571st CRG, Colonel Skelton served as the chief of the West Division in the Directorate of Operations and Plans, U.S. Transportation Command at Scott Air Force Base, Ill.

"Colonel Skelton joins the CRW after a tour at U.S. TRANSCOM and has a keen understanding how to employ our unique capabilities to effectively support the joint warfighter," said Col. John Lipinski, 615th Contingency Response Wing commander. "I have great confidence in his ability to lead the 571st CRG and look forward to the group's continued success during his tenure as the commander."

*The 570th and 571st CRGs are two of three CRGs in the 615th CRW and are responsible for providing warfighting capabilities to accomplish the Air Force's 'open the air base' mission. The groups provide Combatant Commanders with expeditionary air base assessments, command and control, aerial port, maintenance, weather and civil engineering support.
