EOHCAMP Assessment begins Sept. 15 Published Sept. 10, 2008 By Don Detwiler 60th Civil Engineer Squadron Asset Management Flight TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Travis' week-long external Environmental and Occupational Health Compliance Assessment and Management Program evaluation begins Sept. 15. A team led by environmental and occupational health experts from Air Mobility Command and McChord Air Force Base, Wash., assisted by private environmental and engineering contractors, will examine base activities for compliance with occupational health and environmental laws and regulations. The purpose of the EOHCAMP is to identify and correct environmental deficiencies, preventing both environmental damage and penalties. Evaluators look for areas of environmental noncompliance and the root causes for the shortfalls. The information gathered by the evaluators will help the base complete its mission while protecting worker health and environmental quality. The EOHCAMP team will examine: air emissions, solid waste disposal and recycling, hazardous materials safety and storage, inventory records, spill records and hazardous waste management and natural/cultural resource management to name a few. The EOHCAMP team will give the following briefings to base personnel: Inbrief - Sept.15, 8 to 8:30 a.m. Crosstalk- Sept.17, 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Outbrief - Sept. 19, 9 to 10 a.m. All briefings are held in the 6th Air Refueling Squadron Auditorium Bldg. 181, 585 Hickam Avenue.
