Armed Forces Voters Week kicks off Sept. 2 Published Aug. 20, 2008 By Maj. Robert Cuellar Installation Voting Assistance Officer TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The Nov. 4 general election is fast approaching. This year Armed Forces Voters Week will be Sept. 2 through 6. During this time, voting assistance officers will be making a push to maximize awareness and encourage participation in the general election. Information and absentee voting assistance will be provided at booths at the following locations: Base Exchange - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Commissary - 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fitness Center - 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sierra Inn Dining Hall - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. David Grant USAF Medical Center - 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Armed Forces Voters Week will be the last safe week when military and overseas citizens can send in the Federal Post Card Application (SF-76) to register as an absentee voter with their local election offices and receive their absentee ballot in time to vote in the November election.
