AMC Wing Security Awareness Day Published July 14, 2008 60th Communications Squadron TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Our critical networks are constantly probed for weaknesses. Practicing good Operation Security, Information Security and Computer Security is critical to the success of air mobility operations and the availability, confidentiality and integrity of our command and control data. AMC is dependent upon the data and systems of the AMC enterprise to conduct our airlift mission; therefore, we must engrain OPSEC, INFOSEC and COMPUSEC into our daily business. To further improve our security posture, Headquarters AMC has designated this year's AMC Security Awareness Day as July 22. On this day, personnel will receive awareness training on the ever increasing threat to our information, assets and base networks. The wing Information Assurance office will oversee completion of the Information Protection Training by July 22. In addition, they will provide information on various security disciplines to include: OPSEC, INFOSEC and COMPUSEC to be briefed at unit/agency level. These activities will better arm each AMC member to defend AMC's information against espionage and inform our personnel on good OPSEC, INFOSEC and COMPUSEC practices. This is an issue none of us can afford to take lightly. Operations and schedules may preclude all of us conducting this training precisely on July 22, but make every attempt to complete your security awareness activities by Aug. 29.
