The "Maddogs" of the 570th Global Mobility Readiness Squadron welcomed their new commander June 10 at a change-of-command ceremony in the 615th Contingency Response Wing warehouse.

Lt. Col. Craig Theisen took command of the squadron that provides all base support services for the 570th Contingency Response Group - one of six Air Mobility Command rapidly-deployable "Open the Airbase" units. Colonel Theisen most recently served as the executive officer to the 15th Expeditionary Mobility Task Force commander.

"I'm really looking forward to leading this team of Airmen who are clearly highly motivated and who come from an extremely diverse set of career fields," said Colonel Theisen.

The unit has functional experts from 10 different career fields including: Security Forces, Intelligence, Supply, Contracting, Finance, Civil Engineering, Air Traffic Control, Meteorological Equipment and Navigational Aids systems, fuels and vehicle maintenance.

Outgoing commander, Lt. Col. Alex Berger, said he has never served with a more dedicated group of Air Force professionals. Colonel Berger is being reassigned as the deputy commander, 615th Contingency Operations Support Group, and is deploying this fall to U.S. Air Forces, U.S. Central Command Air Operations Center's Combat Operations Division in Southwest Asia.
