Do you need Urgent or Out of Area care? Urgent care is defined as medically necessary services required for an illness or injury that would not result in further disability or death if not treated immediately, but requires professional attention and has the potential to develop such a threat if treatment is delayed longer than 24 hours.

An urgent care condition could include a sprain, a sore throat or rising temperature. If you are enrolled in Tricare Prime at David Grant USAF Medical Center, you need to contact your Primary Care Manager at DGMC first.

Before you receive care and to avoid higher out-of-pocket expenses, remember the following:

1. Please consider where you are calling from to contact your PCM:

-- In area during duty hours, contact PCM at 423-5000

-- In area after duty hours, contact on-call PCM at 423-5000

-- Out of area during duty hours, contact PCM at (800) 264-3462 or (707) 423-5000

-- Out of area after hours cantact on-call PCM at  (800) 264-3462 or 707) 423-5000

2. Once approved, call 1-888-TRI-WEST for help locating a provider.

3. Seek service at the facility recommended by TriWest.

It is crucial that you get a referral from your PCM. Failure to obtain a referral could result in medical claim denial for Active Duty Members or Point-of-Service charges for non-active duty.
