In March, Team Travis will host more than 80 inspectors as the wing undergoes the Unit Compliance Inspection given by the Air Mobility Command Inspector General's office.

The base will go through an Emergency Management Exercise Jan. 15 to help Team Travis members prepare for the UCI.

The EMX is conducted so the IG may assess Team Travis' response to a terrorist event through use of situational awareness and use of Operational Risk Management.

The base command and control, wing and unit-level disaster response capabilities will be tested during the EMX.

Additionally, a second EMX will be held in February to ensure Travis stays current with emergency response resources and the ability to respond in a timely fashion.

During the EMX, base personnel will be expected to participate fully and may be detained in their workplace or experience other restrictions to movement within and between buildings on base.

The scenario may include [but not limited to] shelter-in-place, lockdown, building evacuations, vehicular traffic revisions and may require base personnel to work beyond normal duty hours and through lunch breaks.

In addition, it is recommended Travis members avoid scheduling appointments and coordinate in advance for child care needs, off-duty education or other activities that could be affected by the exercise.
