Lindsay Logsdon 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- The 60th Air Mobility Wing commander and GMH Military Housing will jointly host a town hall meeting Jan. 16 at the Base Theater beginning at 6 p.m. GMH Military Housing management company will be presenting information about the company, the housing project, site plans and housing floor plans and some general project timeline information affecting current residents. The town hall meeting is an opportunity for interested and affected housing occupants to learn more about what GMH as a management company will be doing for the community. The Georgetown neighborhood will not be privatized, however, current residents of Georgetown may be eligible to relocate to a privatized unit as construction progresses. Following the general presentation there will be a short open forum for a few questions and answers and then attendees will have an opportunity for one-on-one questions. "The Air Force's goal has always been to provide modern, quality housing for military members and their families and GMH has been in the business of military housing management for over 10 years on a nationwide scale," said Robert Vunesky, housing privatization project manager. "This town hall meeting is a chance for everyone to hear more about GM's strengths in managing military housing and to ascertain the professionalism of Travis' future housing management company." Under the current schedule, the company will assume management during the first week of April with demolition and construction beginning three to four months later.
