In Remembrance: Senior Airman Micheaul McIntosh Published Dec. 11, 2007 By 60th Air Mobility Wing Office of Public Affairs TRAVIS AFB, Calif. -- Senior Airman Micheaul McIntosh II, 9th Air Refueling Squadron KC-10 Extender in-flight refuel operator, passed away Dec. 7 as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident, in Vallejo, Calif. Airman McIntosh was born Oct. 4, 1983 in Dallas, Texas and joined the Air Force June 4, 2004. He is survived by his father Micheaul McIntosh and his mother Linda Keener. "Airman McIntosh was a top-notch Airman," said Lt. Col. Matthew Lloyd, 9th ARS commander. "He had just returned from deployment, where he earned his first Air Medal for flying 20 combat sorties over Iraq and Afghanistan and an Aerial Achievement Medal for flying 10 additional combat sorties as a KC-10 boom operator, and he was preparing to head out again. He played a key role in the 9th ARS boom section winning the Al Evans Trophy as Air Mobility Command's number one boom section last year." "He was a native Texan who loved rodeo and baseball - although he was a die-hard New York Yankees fan. He was a star on the intramural softball team and was a friend to all.," Colonel Lloyd added. "Mike's contributions to the squadron will be deeply missed and mere words cannot adequately express our sympathies for his family. Airman McIntosh was a true American hero and I am proud to have served with him and been his commander." A memorial service for Airman McIntosh is scheduled for Dec. 20 at 10 a.m., at Chapel Center.
