Air Force Band of the Golden West to hold holiday concerts

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. --  The USAF Band of the Golden West will kick off the concert series, "Holiday Fantasies," from Nov. 3 to Dec. 6. 

The band will perform for the local communities as a "thank you" for their support of the Air Force and its mission. 

The band will play a selection of holiday classics, new and old, performed by the concert band and by smaller band ensembles. Under the baton of its commander, Maj. Michael Mench, the band will also feature vocalists and instrumental soloists. 

The concerts are scheduled for: 

-- Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 7:30 p.m., at the Vacaville Performing Arts Center 

-- Dec. 2 at 2 p.m., at the Chabot College Auditorium in Hayward 

-- Dec. 6 at 7:30 p.m., at the Fairfield Center for the Creative Arts
