Get out and vote! Published Sept. 18, 2007 By Capt. Ian McCrea 60th Air Mobility Wing Staff Judge Advocate TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Most people do not associate odd number years with elections, but in three states that is not the case this year. Elections for governor are being held in Kentucky, Louisiana and Mississippi this year. Team Travis members who are residents of these states and are registered to vote in any of those states, should not miss their opportunity to have their voice heard. The Federal Voting Assistance Program has made it easier to vote, by either obtaining a "Registration and Absentee Ballot Request - Federal Post Card Application" from a unit voting assistance officer, or filling out the form on the at www.fvap.gov/pubs/onlinefpca.pdf. After filling out the FCPA, the form may be forwarded to the unit voting assistance officer or to the program's toll free fax number, 1-800- 368-8683. In addition, members can obtain election information for their home state by visiting that state's election Web site. More information about the Federal Voting Assistance Program can be found at www.fvap.gov, or by contacting a unit voting assistance officer.
