The 2006 Air Force Financial Management and Comptroller Annual Awards were recently announced, naming a Travis captain the Financial Analysis Officer of the Year.

Capt. Amanda Evans, Financial Management Analysis flight commander, earned the award based on an overview of her total accomplishments, which included managing the day-to-day operations of the Travis budget and doing her job expertly with limited funds, explained Senior Master Sgt. Beth Joiner, 60th Comptroller Squadron superintendent.

"It's a building block approach to win the award," said Lt. Col. Robert DiAntonio, 60th Comptroller Squadron commander.

To be eligible in any category for the annual awards, personnel must be nominated first by their squadron at base level, who in turn send those nomination packages to Air Mobility Command. Captain Evans was selected as the AMC Financial Analysis Officer of the Year from 12 nominees. She was then recommended to compete at the Air Force level.

The winner of the award was announced by the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Financial Management and Comptroller in March.
"We're very proud of Captain Evan's performance, she is an exceptional officer whose enthusiasm shows in all issues she deals with," said Colonel DiAntonio.

"Captain Evans is an energetic leader with an unparalleled amount of motivation. Her dedication to the job is evident and it's no surprise she won the award," said Sergeant Joiner.

Captain Evans will be recognized for her achievement at an awards ceremony in May.
