Volunteers from around the base are needed this year to help bring cheer to our young Airmen during the holidays with a bag of cookies.

The Travis Integrated Delivery System, Air Force Sergeants Association and the Officer's Spouses Club are teaming together to sponsor Operation Cookie Drop Dec. 20 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Chapel One near the base theater.

Volunteers are asked to bake or buy cookies (as many dozen cookies as possible) to distribute to our troops throughout the base.

"Since we consider ourselves an extended family here at Team Travis, we need to take care of our Airmen who are away from their original families during the holidays," said Mrs. Deb Arquiette, wife of Col. Steve Arquiette, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander.

"Operation Cookie Drop allows us the opportunity to give back to the ones who take care of us every day."

To drop off cookies, volunteers are asked to pull up next to Chapel One and honk their horn.
A volunteer from the chapel will come out to the vehicle to retrieve the cookies.

The Travis Youth Center is decorating a minimum of 2,000 bags for the cookies that are donated.

Volunteers are also needed to wrap and package the cookies starting at 3 p.m. The cookies will be delivered to the Airmen by the Travis first sergeants via a cookie bus.
