TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Military retirees across northern California will be honored at Travis during Retiree Appreciation Day, May 14, 2011. This event features multiple health and wellness displays and demonstrations from a variety of organizations.

Experts from David Grant USAF Medical Center will present a series of informative discussions from oncology, nutrition, and optometry to women's health and physical fitness. The opening ceremonies begin at 8:30 a.m. and briefings will conclude around 11 a.m. The keynote speaker is Lt. Col. (Ret) Shane Ostrom, certified financial planner professional and member of the Military Officers Association of America.

Military retirees and spouses will also enjoy free continental breakfast, seminars, a health fair and free lunch. Following lunch, attendees can enjoy music from the Band of the Golden West, receive information from vendors, participate in the closing ceremonies and view a static display of a C-17 Globemaster III.
