Travis personnel respond to fire Published Aug. 18, 2008 By 020808 TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Travis Air Force Base emergency personnel, with assistance from local fire departments are responding to a seven-alarm fire nearTravis that started off-base at approximately 4 p.m. today. Approximately 25 abandoned housing units have been affected by the fire. The units affected were already scheduled for demolition. "Our highly-trained and well equipped emergency personnel are working with our local partners to contain the fire and limit the damage," said Col. Mark Dillon, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander. "At this time we are not evacuating any of our housing residence." More information will be released as it becomes available.
