General to speak at Travis Air Force Base

TAMPA, Fla. -- Maj. Gen. Gerald P. Minetti, Director of Coalition Coordination at U.S. Central Command, U.S. Army, will speak at Travis Air Force Base Tuesday at 10 a.m. regarding the Global War on Terrorism and ongoing operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.

U.S. Central Command is the geographically defined unified combatant command in charge of 27 countries throughout the Middle East and the Horn of Africa to include Iraq and Afghanistan.

General Minetti will speak directly to the nature of the enemy the U.S. is facing, CENTCOM’s current mission, coalition operations in CENTCOM’s area of responsibility and the Global War on Terrorism to include Iraq, Afghanistan and the Horn of Africa.

There will be opportunity for media to interview the general following the event if desired.
