Travis offers members rewards Published March 1, 2013 By Kymberley Wayne 60th Force Support Squadron marketing TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- There has never been a better time to become an Air Force Club Member at Travis. With its current membership drive, Travis is offering an opportunity to win a new sports car for new applicants that apply before May 31. Current Club Members also have the opportunity to participate. When they refer a new member to sign up at the Delta Breeze Club, they get two entries into the contest. In addition to the new 2013 Scion FR-S, members can also win one month of free gasoline, one month of free groceries, one year of free brunch at the Delta Breeze Club, an iPod Touch, an iPad Mini, a set of professional golf clubs and Disneyland tickets. This contest is not the only reason to become a Club Member. Regardless of rank, all club members receive the same rewards for on-base activities and food purchases. The rewards offered at Travis include 10 percent off the following: Force Support Squadron on-base restaurants including Fairways at Cypress Lakes Golf Course, Ten Pin at Travis Bowl, Java City at Westwind Inn and Wingman's at the DBC. Oil changes at the Auto Hobby Shop. Engraving Shop items. Pro Shop items at Cypress Lakes Golf Course. Pro Shop items, bowl games and shoe rentals at Travis Bowl. Most adventure trips and rental equipment at Outdoor Recreation. Members are also rewarded with a free breakfast that takes place monthly at the Delta Breeze Club. "The Delta Breeze Club has evolved over the years and the economy has made new programming a challenge," said Brian Floyd, 60th Force Support Squadron deputy director. "Regardless of challenges, our goal was to construct innovative venues at the Delta Breeze Club while creating a unique Club Membership program that greatly rewarded its deserving members." To become a Club Member, an individual must apply for either a Club MasterCard or a proprietary card. A proprietary card is available for people who cannot or do not wish to open a private line of credit, but would like to become a club member and receive the above rewards. A Club MasterCard is an option for people who are able and willing to open a private line of credit. The MasterCard is a private credit card and, when the card is used, the holder will accumulate points: two points per dollar spent on base and one point per dollar spent off base. Once the holder accrues 2,500 points, he or she can redeem a cash-back reward. One hundred points is equivalent to one dollar. Additional benefits of the MasterCard include: Two percent cash back for gas on base and for purchases at Army and Air Force Exchange Services and Commissaries. One percent cash back on all off base purchases. 10 percent off any single item up to $200 purchased at the Base Exchange on the first Tuesday of each month. To become a Club Member at Travis and be automatically entered into the new sports car contest, applications can be picked-up and submitted to the Delta Breeze Club 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, Fairway's located at Cypress Lakes Golf Course, Java City located at Westwind Inn, Ten Pin located at Travis Bowl and Wingman's located at the Delta Breeze Club.
