60th MSS still remains undefeated after win Published July 7, 2006 By Tech. Sgt. Donald Osborn 60th AMW/ Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- It must be lonely at the top, especially for the members of the 60th Mission Support Squadron softball team. They defended their undefeated record of 9-0 against the members of the 60th Dental Squadron June 29. Although the DS is struggling this season with a 2-7 record, they started the game with confidence. The DS held their own in the beginning, before the MSS opened up more than a can of homeruns when they came to bat by leading with a score of 9- 2. That’s the closest DS came after silencing the MSS bats in the second inning. Still leading 9-2 going into the third inning, MSS was silenced no more as they hit five runs to go up 14-2. The fourth and fifth innings were no different when MSS scored 8 and 13 runs respectively. When the dust finally settled over Johnson field, the final score of 35-2 said it all. The damage was done and MSS walked away still undefeated at 10-0. The regular season started May 15 and lasts until July 27 with the playoffs starting July 31.
