Airmen from the 60th Security Forces Squadron joined forces with Special Olympics athletes to run through Travis Air Force Base, California, June 21 for the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run.

The nearly two-mile run is held in honor of Special Olympians. During the run, an athlete carries the torch, known as the "Flame of Hope" to its next destination. The torch arrived at the Main Gate of Travis on June 20 where it was given to members of the 60th SFS.

At 8 a.m. June 21 the torch continued to make its journey toward the University of California Davis, where the Special Olympics Summer Games will be played from June 22 - 24.

The run through Travis took runners along Travis Avenue and then down Burgan Boulevard out the North Gate. From there, the runners made their way to Vacaville, California, where the torch was handed off to officers with the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.
