***PRESS RELEASE*** Active-duty Airman found dead Published Jan. 19, 2024 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – An active-duty Airman assigned to the 60th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, Travis Air Force Base, California, was pronounced dead on-base January 17, 2024. The deceased Airman has been identified as Airman 1st Class David Delgado-Calderon, 20, of North Las Vegas, Nevada. Delgado-Calderon entered the Air Force June 27, 2022, and arrived at Travis AFB Oct. 26, 2022. Delgado-Calderon served as a Crew Chief on the C-5M Super Galaxy. “It is with deep sorrow that I share the loss of a valued teammate,” said Brig. Gen. Derek Salmi, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander. “David positively impacted many, family, friends, and colleagues across his life and I ask that you keep them all in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Please also know that your leadership teams, as well as many helpful base resources, are available during this time of grief and loss.” Wing chaplains, mental health professionals and counselors are available to assist those in need.
