Derek Salmi hosted the Department of the Air Force Installation Commander’s Caucus at Travis Air Force Base for the first time, March 5 – 6, 2024. Leaders from six of the Department of the Air Force installations within California are briefed during the Department of the Air Force California Installation Commanders' Caucus at Travis Air Force Base, California, March 5, 2024. The leaders addressed issues including energy resiliency, cost of living issues, and installation infrastructure. One of the goals of the caucus was to prepare issues for the upcoming Governor’s Defense Conference in Sacramento in May 2024. The leaders listened to briefings addressing issues including energy resiliency, cost of living issues, spouse licensure issues and others.
