Cookie Drop set to descend on Travis Published Dec. 4, 2015 By Senior Airman Nicole Leidholm 60th Air Mobility Wing Public Affairs TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- With the holidays fast approaching, this time of year can be a challenging one for many Airmen living in the dorms who are still becoming accustomed to being away from their families. Operation Cookie Drop, which is scheduled to occur from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Dec. 9 at Travis Air Force Base, Calif., is an opportunity for service members on base and residents of the community to provide support to Airmen living in the dorms by baking cookies to be sorted and hand delivered to each dorm resident by volunteers. "Cookie Drop is important because it lets our Airmen know they are important and cared about during the holidays," said Stacy Pauly, wife of Col. T. Corwin Pauly, 60th Air Mobility Wing vice commander. "The Airmen at Travis are the backbone of the mission, but are often unseen. It provides the community an opportunity to show their appreciation in a small but tangible way." Drop off locations are at the south entrance of David Grant USAF Medical Center and the Twin peaks chapel. "It is a great event to be a part of and many in the community look forward to it," Pauly said. "People have been contacting us through email and the Facebook page for months."
