Traffic delays expected during Main Gate construction Published May 26, 2015 60th Civil Engineer Squadron TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. -- Major upgrades to Travis Air Force Base's Main Gate perimeter security and traffic controls are slated to begin June 8 and will continue through September. These upgrades require partial lane closures for both the inbound and outbound lanes. The main gate will remain open with at least one open lane for both the inbound and outbound lanes. Traffic control devices will be used to warn vehicles and pedestrians. Additional information will be announced concerning future closures needed for final inspection and acceptance of the gates.
